Description: White or white like powder.
Amoxicillin is a beta lactam antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. Just like ampicillin, its antimicrobial activity to most Gram-positive bacteria is slightly weaker than that of penicillin and its sensitivity to penicillinase caused it to be ineffective against penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Proteus, Salmonella, Haemophilus, Brucella and Pasteurella are sensitive to Amoxicillin, but they are prone to drug resistance. This product is not sensitive to Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Because of better absorption of ampicillin and higher blood concentration in mono-gastric animals, it has a better effect on systemic infection. This product is suitable for systemic infection such as respiratory system, urinary system, skin and soft tissue caused by sensitive bacteria.
Quite stable in gastric acid and the absorption rate can reach 74% to 92% in mono gastric animals. Gastrointestinal absorption could affect the absorption rate, but does not affect the absorption level, so it can be mixed feeding. The serum concentration of amoxicillin was 1.5 to 3 times higher than that of ampicillin after taking the same dose.
Synergistic effects were seen combined with aminoglycosides and the concentration of the latter in bacteria was elevated.
Not suitable to use with fast acting bacteriostatic agents such as macrolides, tetracyclines, amidols for their inhibiting effect on germicidal efficacy of Amoxicillin.
Beta lactam antibiotics. This product is indicated for the treatment of infections induced by gram positive bacteria and gram negative bacteria susceptible to amoxicillin in chickens.
